From the short by @njohnfalco , "Hide & Seek". I helped choreograph this fight in the hallway and it made me realize I really like choreographing fights. Can we film some more? 📽️ #friday #film #coreography #fight
Live practice with Cultt of She

Working on a new idea with Cultt of She. The drums in this piece are inspired by Brann Dailor. I couldn't figure out what to do with this song for the longest time, but after seeing Mastodon perform something just clicked!

Practicing and working out the kinks of the next single from "Cultt of She". This segment of the song is the bridge and it incorporates a ton of really fun cymbal work to carry the groove.

Thank you my friend.
Hi again , I'm in the process of setting up a room to make some drum videos. Whatever I can do to help . Once it's up and running il do a vid. There's a few things happening BUT technic will really help. It ain't easy, I've been playing for 30years and stopped for 2 . Started up and found the problem you have.....like I said it's a few things but tech is best........foot control is everything. Though you can't have great foot control with an out of tune skin or beater weight. So it's a number of things. We'll get an answer don't panic. Rock On For Now 🤘 Saul
The audio SUCKS 😂 Sounds like the stuff I record for me to watch myself and improve. I wish I was this talented! lol keep tearing em up brother!
Audio is absolutely sub par. I use my phone over head to record. Nothing fancy. Really wanna get a good set up together one of these days. I appreciate the kind words though my friend . Have a beautiful day😊
@@JosephScarpinoOnDrums I do the same. record with my phone. it sounds just as atrocious if not worse 🤣 Its not about the audio recordings for UA-cam video anyway. Keep rocking.
💪💪🥁
Man I'm not to sure, I'm using mesh quite pratice heads and they are fully vented but I get a double hit at times still. I found it is my technique as well as venting the drum. ✌
Hey buddy. Do you by chance have a video demonstrating what happens? I'd be happy to try and help.
AOV 5:00 min mark till the end of the song.... try that cover! Sounds good!
Noice
Super cool kit. Nice playing!
Thank you! And thanks for checking out my channel.
I agree. I've been playing jazz, classic rock, pop and soul for over 50 years and for me, it's always about ergonomics. I have to be comfortable and be able to do a rim shot with my left hand (I'm right-handed and use cross-grip mostly, with alternate match-grip on rack tom.), rim shot with my right hand, reach across to the floor tom on my right side, with my left hand. My arms have to drop to a natural position at my side so I can be relaxed enough to play for hours without getting tired. The rack tom has to be low enough and tilted just right for a natural movement from the snare drum with either hand. Your system shows this. While all this sounds complicated, it is - at first - but after the set up is complete, everything just flows naturally with no discomfort and you should not have to look at your drums or cymbals unless you want to. You should always maintain eye contact with the other band members for any changes coming up. The hi hats, crash and ride also have to be positioned for the natural arm and shoulder positions. I rigged up a very thin cable with a loop at each end for each, my hi hat stand pedal and bass drum pedal, which attaches quickly to my throne to keep the kit from creeping away. Total cost was less than $5 from the hardware store and is easily detachable from the pedals for storage. Finally, I marked all my stands with Sharpie and electrical tape (not noticeable by the audience) for a quick and perfect set up, every time. I can usually set up and tear down my kit in less than 15 minutes. A small collapsible hand-truck with bungee cords make transport much easier. Sorry about going on so much, but I had to learn all this over decades, by trial and error. Thought I would make it easier for the newbies out there.
Thank you for watching
Food for thought. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching
That's a sick snare. I have it. It cracks. And cuts
I use the aquarian triple threat snare head its very good.
I'm gonna give that one a shot. Thank you for your comment.
Nice kit is it a mspex mydentity
It is. 🤘
Why u got Archangel Gabriel on ur phone 💀
I dunno! It just showed up
Where can i get a Mspex red Mapex this? You wabt to sell yours?
Hello! This is a discontinued series from Mapex called the Mydentity Series. They may still offer something like this style wrap though. Check their website. Thanks for watching.
For me I practiced double bass every day in high school history class.
That's great! Keep on practicing.
Very good ! It ´s the right place
how do you tighten
There is and adjustable slide you can use to customize the size.
OH YEAH!
Nice
I got a subscribe your contents funny 😂
Will return the kindness. Thank you
not what the problem is my cymbal arm that’s built into cymbal is what’s the issue
You have a cymbal arm that's built into a cymbal? As in your cymbal is attached to the arm and can't be removed?
@@JosephScarpinoOnDrums no i mean like it’s the boom arm holder that’s moving side to side
How can we hear what it sounds like when it has a huge muffle layed up against it on the inside?
Usually you use your ears, but whatever method you choose is fine.
Is it Just as sturdy with 2 legs? Have heard mixed reviews, most say 2 leg Stands still are sturdy but have heard some say they wobble
Hey dude! So sorry for the late response..this thing doesn't wobble..it's been solid since day 1. Maybe some guys just don't know how to set it up properly? But if you're playing double bass you need one of these. Thank you for watching.
😩 promo sm
...what?
You know this videos old as fuck because the native chick still on the front of the land o lakes logo. Now they just the land o lakes, They got rid of the natives while keeping the land. Which is somehow worse than keeping it the way it was...
Tag them. Or at least Daniel
Took that suggestion. Thanks
First coment woooohoo
This didnt work for me. I already have a reso head with the muffle hole in it. gonna keep tweaking my IC 900's. It is super annoying the little double dribble. Not trying to bury the beater either.
Hey dude. Can you make a video of what's happening? I'd be happy to try and help you out.
If it was in the apartment next door yes I would want to move.
Haha I love that!
Almost Easy - A7X
I was gonna say that
Led Zeppelin Rock and roll
Not quite. Newer song 😁
Did you know that theres a thing called a snare and toms?💀
Never heard of them. That'd actually be two things. I assume they're played when the section of music calls for them to be played. It'd be pretty stupid to play them when that's not how the song goes right?
Its just a joke
@@yaniravillarino630 I appreciate you ❤️
Facts!!
Satan. Take Satan out of the music industry.
my friends band is named "phoenix ash" HAHAHA
the footboard does not fold up to put it in a bag
lol that strike vibrated reality for a moment..
I do apologize
It's also Christopher Daniel barnes birthday
Cool toys
The other cause of the issue is head tension. Think about when you play a floor or a pillow compared to a tight marching snare
I got 2 they are awesome belts my first is from 2017 and no wear at all over 6 years and no wear last forever
Not one hit!? What kind of review is that?
One that focuses on the initial impression and feel of the kit. As in, how does it look in person compared to what is promised when building it? I still have this kit and it's great. Mapex no longer offers this option. If you wanna hear anything Ill make a video for you.
@@JosephScarpinoOnDrums it would be nice to hear what it sounds like. Don't even really have to play it. Just give each drum a clean single stroke.
It's a very annoying problem, especially when recording and I've experienced dribble with both closed and ported resos. For me, best solution has been to record frequently and work on patterns that tend to cause dribble, like kick pattern in the song "Green-Eyed Lady". I play with fairly loose pedal spring tension, but enough to put beater halfway to drum head when foot is resting on it. And I don't bury the beater. I'm not convinced that drum tuning and/or heads compensate for what I perceive to be technique issues. Feet need to be worked on as much as hands if not more.
Nice find man 😎😎
Thanks! You seen any of these?
Thanks so much for posting this. Been having problems with this for years with my current kit. These tricks work like a charm.
I'm super happy to hear this helped you. Thanks for watching
I remember lol
ok maybe stating the obvious here but is the basic idea that instead of 3 legs in a fixed position, here you only have 2, plus you can move them out of the way if you need to? like in this setup, one of the 3 legs would be landing right on top of the drum pedal to the right ... right? so no need for a swivel if your kit is pretty minimal with plenty of space, yeah?
Hey dude. Hope this answers your question. Normally a Hi Hat stand with a third leg would either straddle the Left kick Pedal , restricting your foots range of motion. Or you place it so far away the transitions between hit hat and kick become overly clunky and the placement is off. If it helps, aim happy to provide a visual in the fork of a video. Let me know!
@@JosephScarpinoOnDrums hey thanks i think i can picture it so no need for a video. i'm shopping for a hi hat and been seeing a few with the swivel, so just looking to narrow my search
I have one too. Still playing it. Sounds great.
Excellent! Happy playing my friend
What tips are on those? Thanks.
Hey dude. They are oval tipped. Thanks for watching.
